INFORMACIÓN SOBRE TC 13
retired (42 - Chana Jasmeet / Chana Ravinder): retired after SS 13
retired (49 - Singh Bhogal Harpreet / Noble Gordon): retired after SS 13
flash info (99 - Solberg Oliver / Edmondson Elliott): We were on our way back to service with some technical problems, and then there was a traffic stop and the car stopped. Of course when you try to have such a clean and smart rally it hurts when you are in the lead and able to control things and potentially have a fantastic result. But that’s life. I mean it has been a fantastic start with the team. Four rallies and just a bit of bad luck now. But we know the speed is there and the feeling is there, so we just have to keep going.
flash info (33 - Evans Elfyn / Martin Scott): The morning started pretty well and things were going fine in the second stage of the loop as well. But unfortunately a new layout at the end of the stage caught us out a bit. We picked up a double puncture and managed to fit another tyre to start the next stage, but it looks like there was more damage caused by the impact with the rock. Coming into the first braking of the last stage of the loop, the rear suspension gave way at that moment – or something at the rear anyway - and that’s where it ended unfortunately. I had to take one look at that to know that it couldn’t be fixed, especially here in Kenya. So there was no chance to do anything unfortunately.
flash info (1 - Ogier Sébastien / Landais Vincent): Actually we got the alarm at the finish line of the Sleeping Warrior stage, about the alternator issue. The road section was unfortunately a bit too long to reach the service park. We tried everything we could on the road section to fix it to try and find a way to make the alternator run again but unfortunately it didn’t and we had to retire. It looks like it has been caused by mud coming into the car, of course the whole car is incredibly dirty and it looks like some mud has been coming in. I have been told that one of our cars also had the issue and actually managed to fix it by putting clean water on it again and it started running again. We did that too but unfortunately it didn’t solve our issue. I did everything I could do but it wasn’t enough.
flash info (16 - Fourmaux Adrien / Coria Alexandre): We were using a huge puddle at the side of the road to get enough water to refill the car so it was a mix of mud inside so now they will have to try and clean it. I hope it is going to be ok. We used all the camel bags an everything we had inside, and all the extra litres we had in the back of the car to clean the radiator but still we were overheating and I had to stop again in the road section, we had a technical issue with the clutch. I thought we were going to have to retire because the car would not make it but we managed it very well. There is a big job for the team, I hope they can do it.
flash info (11 - Neuville Thierry / Wydaeghe Martijn): Lots of dramas, honestly it was a nightmare. It was a proper adventure and it is not the way you want to go overheating on the last stage and I had zero visibility because the washing system didn’t work anymore. There was lots of trouble and we got to the end, but I was really taking care of the car to get through because I knew everyone would have similar troubles. We fixed the radiator and the engine but we lost all the drive and the clutch went and it seems like everyone is struggling with the same issue. Somehow trying hard I got it going and I’m happy to be here. Nothing is done yet and we saw Solberg getting pushed by a car the whole way back and we saw Ogier getting towed. Passing the cars on the road and realised we were gaining positions. I think we are second now but still there is no guarantee we are going to finish the rally. It is still very long.
flash info Juha Kankkunen: Definitely the last stage was quite muddy and rough and the mud went into the engine side and broke the alternators for Solberg and Ogier. Oliver has also a little bit of a transmission problem as well and Elfyn we know what happened to him already so it hasn’t been the best morning. Taka is still leading but in that case we are ok but that is Safari. That can happen.
retired (1 - Ogier Sébastien / Landais Vincent): technical problem - alternator after SS 13
retired (99 - Solberg Oliver / Edmondson Elliott): technical problem - alternator after SS 13
Stage is cancelled.
Stage is stopped after all Rally1 cars due to the bad road condition.
flash info (99 - Solberg Oliver / Edmondson Elliott): Not good. Ogier took a minute but what can I do? I have no spare tyres and I can't see anything. I just tried to be smart. Ogier is pushing to take advantage.
flash info (1 - Ogier Sébastien / Landais Vincent): Just to go through there is good.
flash info (5 - Pajari Sami / Salminen Marko): Not well. It was going quite well until the last kilometres of the last stage. At least we came through.
flash info (11 - Neuville Thierry / Wydaeghe Martijn): I couldn't see a thing but we are here.
(11 - Neuville Thierry / Wydaeghe Martijn): car is overheating
retired (33 - Evans Elfyn / Martin Scott): damaged suspension in SS 13
flash info (16 - Fourmaux Adrien / Coria Alexandre): It's quite warm in here. I hope we can continue.
(33 - Evans Elfyn / Martin Scott): going with damaged suspension
flash info (18 - Katsuta Takamoto / Johnston Aaron): It is super muddy and tricky and we have no spare so I completely backed off and for sure we will lose a lot of time. It is better to stay in the game and anything can happen in the afternoon.
flash info (4 - Lappi Esapekka / Mälkönen Enni): We were so busy to fix all the other problems that we didn't have time to fill the washer liquid and we run out on the first stage. Windscreen was full of mud, I couldn't see a thing.
flash info (95 - Armstrong Jon / Byrne Shane): I tried to have a good rhythm and bit of set up change seemed to help. It was such a demanding stage. It is just mental and it is not surprising that you can get a puncture in there so easy as you are a passenger. The amount of head banging you are doing as well, you've got to be tough for this game.
(95 - Armstrong Jon / Byrne Shane): puncture
(16 - Fourmaux Adrien / Coria Alexandre): stopped in stage, continue
flash info (55 - McErlean Joshua / Treacy Eoin): We have taken in a lot of water, it is quite crazy.
Lot of mud everywhere.
