I had to put it in reverse gear so I lost more or less 6 or 7 seconds in the stage. Ogier had a good run through on the first stage but then we pulled it back on the second.

In the tough parts you have to push to get a good time. Ogier surprised us by pushing a lot harder than expected so we had to respond.

We were helped by the dust at the start of the first stage. I feel this stage was my best, less big stones on the road but more sand.

It's horrible conditions to be first on the road. There are no lines and the wheels are spinning. It is more dry on this one, I try to do a good stage, the feeling was quite okay but there is a huge amount of cleaning.

First we had the fire alarm in the hotel in the morning and we had to evacuate. Then to start the day with this test is demanding. At a few points we had to really slow down. Our car works well in these conditions, but I could have done better.
