INFORMATION ABOUT SS 18
(47 - Hotta Makoto / Kawanishi Haruo): retired in SS 18
(29 - Yamamoto Yuki / Salminen Marko): accident in SS 18
(26 - Chwist Daniel / Heller Kamil): Not great, on the middle of the road on the corner we had to avoid it. It is a nice stage, let's see what happens next.
(35 - Nutahara Fumio / Azuma Shungo): Car is very okay, I need more push. Driving in the Nutaka next.
(34 - Katsuta Norihiko / Kimura Yusuke): Good stage. Thank you very much.
(22 - Kajetanowicz Kajetan / Szczepaniak Maciej): Bad, really bad. 2km before the end, Ingram was too late on the brakes and he touched the concrete, it was in the middle of the road. I thought it was the bumper but it wasn't the bumper, we hit it and destroyed something. The car was moving a lot, I am sorry for Chris but in this corner it is like a lottery
(36 - Kogure Hikaru / Luhtinen Topi): I went one short high speed corner, too high speed. We hit a ditch. We went over on impact, so it is okay.
(36 - Kogure Hikaru / Luhtinen Topi): puncture
(30 - Ingram Chris / Kihurani Alexander): retired in SS 18
(25 - Greensmith Gus / Andersson Jonas): Like every year of my rallying career, it goes very quickly. It feels like I was just in Kenya. We are taking it nice and easy. Every stage is challenging, you have to be very aware, already in the beginning there were some places that were pulling out water.
(31 - Arai Hiroki / Matsuo Shunsuke): This morning I had an issue with the car, it is an old car so I cannot handle it! We had an issue with the handbrake, something was flashing on the dash. We will try to do it anyway. The first stage this morning, there was a hell of a lot of smoke. I was thinking to retire it or not, but now I turned the Anti-Lag on, trying to manage it.
(20 - Pajari Sami / Mälkönen Enni): It's like a Sunday drive, cruising around. I try to keep some rhythm on the driving, it is much easier that way and also quite enjoyable. This stage is in quite good condition so quite fun to drive. I think family and friends are watching even if it is the middle of the night. I think they are watching anyway, I am lucky to have them.
(21 - Gryazin Nikolay / Aleksandrov Konstantin): For us, it was a clean run, no rush. The first stage was quite tricky, easy to do a mistake. If I will be in a fight it will be enjoyable to push properly on the Wolf Power Stage.
(33 - Evans Elfyn / Martin Scott): We have to keep going with the same plan and see what is possible to get for the day. There is pollution and a lot of leaves in places which makes it pretty difficult to see what the grip is in places and judge it obviously.
(17 - Ogier Sébastien / Landais Vincent): Never nice, I think I heard that Tänak and Jarveojä are okay, that is most important. I know quite good how Ott feels recently, I feel for them as they are doing a good race so far. It is very tight in the manufacturers' fight so let's see.
(16 - Fourmaux Adrien / Coria Alexandre): It's a really nice stage to drive, I am really happy with my pace. Still some dirt coming on the stage, less than the previous one. It is really a shame for Tanak, we take the podium for now. To keep the podium, that's the plan.
(18 - Katsuta Takamoto / Johnston Aaron): Nothing has changed, just keep going, bring the car back. Let's see next stage what I can do. Depends on the situation if we win the Wolf Power Stage, I need to check.
(13 - Munster Grégoire / Louka Louis): At the moment I was hesitating, you have the impact and don't know what the car is going to do if you have a slow puncture or something. I am struggling more than yesterday. Yesterday was way more twisty so you just have to make the car slow downhill, you have more load with the tyre and the chassis. Struggling a bit but have to improve this afternoon. It stays [as it is], Forum8 Rally Japan with its surprises. Now there is not so much to play for, we just need to improve.
(11 - Neuville Thierry / Wydaeghe Martijn): Honestly, it came like surprise. I don't know what to say at the moment but I think we deserve it. Very challenging year, very tough. Obviously much more pressure than we needed, especially for this last event. We knew there was risk and we managed it. We are happy now, we are a bit more relaxed now, so we can push harder for the manufacturers because we want to go home with all the trophies. There is not much to lose, we will go flat out, go for the manufacturers, everyone wants that title too. I will do what I can to make the car faster.
(9 - Mikkelsen Andreas / Eriksen Torstein): We have to be inch perfect everywhere, it is going to be tough. I was pushing hard, maybe we were a bit sideways, I don't know. Very happy for Neuville, well deserved. Very happy for him. |
